On 20 April 2022 we released Scan2Invoice version 2. Version 2 is built on the BillBjorn platform and includes many improvements compared to Scan2Invoice version 1, including cloud-based processing, improved OCR and data extraction, and updated accounting software integrations.

With the release of version 2, development and support for Scan2Invoice version 1 was discontinued. We no longer sell new licenses for Scan2Invoice version 1.

Existing users with a valid Scan2Invoice version 1 license key may continue to install and use the software. However, Scan2Invoice version 1 is now legacy software and is no longer maintained.

Important update for QuickBooks Online and Xero users

As of 1 June 2026, the legacy Scan2Invoice version 1 connections to QuickBooks Online and Xero are no longer available.

The Scan2Invoice version 1 desktop application itself is not being remotely disabled. However, because Scan2Invoice version 1 was designed to export directly to supported accounting systems, the removal of these legacy connections means that most QuickBooks Online and Xero users will no longer be able to use Scan2Invoice version 1 for their normal workflow.

This change is due to updated requirements from accounting software platforms and the fact that Scan2Invoice version 1 is no longer an actively maintained product.

What should I do now?

To continue using Scan2Invoice with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or other supported accounting systems, please upgrade to the current version of Scan2Invoice.

The current version is subscription-based and is built on the BillBjorn platform. It includes updated accounting integrations and ongoing maintenance.

Upgrade to Version 2

Can I continue using Scan2Invoice version 1 for my accounting workflow?

In most cases, no.

Scan2Invoice version 1 is not being remotely disabled, and existing licensed users may still be able to install and open the software. However, the legacy QuickBooks Online and Xero connections are no longer available. Because direct export to accounting software is a core part of the Scan2Invoice workflow, Scan2Invoice version 1 is no longer suitable for most users.

We recommend upgrading to the current subscription-based version of Scan2Invoice to continue scanning invoices and exporting them to your accounting software.
